Give to your cause.
Lost an honor bet — or just want to back the run? Donate to any charity you believe in, then drop the receipt here. Esben verifies it, and it joins the wall. You give directly; no money ever touches this site.
Goal: $5,000 to good causes — verified donations appear here as receipts come in.
Why there's no charity logo here
Fundraisers usually fail at the same spot: unless you're raising for whatever the news cycle already made everyone care about, no single charity is relevant to more than a handful of the people you ask. This one skips that problem entirely — you pick the cause, I just supply the suffering.
Will a Dane with a gutless engine actually break 3:30 through five boroughs? Genuinely no idea. But the causes get funded either way — and that's the only part of this I'd put money on.
The whole methodology — why relevance is every fundraiser's problem →Why give to a charity of your choice?
- More gets given. People give more — and more gladly — to a cause they already care about. Letting you pick keeps it engaging, and engagement means a bigger total actually reaching good causes.
- The receipt (and the tax deduction) stays yours. Because you donate directly to a registered charity, the gift is legally yours — keep the receipt and claim it on your taxes. Routing money through me would cost you that.
- No trust required. Not a cent moves through this site; you give directly and simply show proof. The wall stays honest without anyone handing me money.
No real money moves through this site — losing a call means donating your stake directly to a charity you pick. How the honor system works
